Pretty sure they don't match rates
They develop their rates based on the risk they perceive to insure you, it's not like buying a shirt. If another insurer is willing to take on the risk at a lower rate then go with them but you can't expect your insurance company to simply match a rate.

Auto insurance rates are non-negotiable. Auto insurance rates must be filed with the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and adhered to like scripture.
If someone got a quote from another company that was $0.01 cheaper than my quote, there's nothing I could do in an apples-to-apples situation.

I'm also gonna try a broker to see if I can get a better rate somewhere. But if belair can give me a better quote with/without automerit, I might switch. Is there a disadvantage of switching insurance companies only after 2 years? Won't they be like "what's wrong with this dude...keeps switching companies"?

Got my renewal coming up and I'm going from 333 a month to 302 a month. Not bad but still sucks lol. 24 now in Brampton.

Might be worth mentioning that raising your liability from $1M to $2M is not a lot of money. It was something like $50/year extra for me. Just in case of any unforeseen serious Bodily Injury claims.... They can get very expensive.
$243/mo Desjardins - 23 years old, male, north York, clean record. Collision coverage, no claims history.
I also agreed to a higher deductible when I first started out with my own insurance to keep my premium a bit lower.
No discount through my work so I went with Desjardins as it was the cheapest I was quoted.

The first million is the expensive part. 2nd million is always cheap because chances of needing it are very low. For me it was an extra $12

Some of you pay so much for insurance
@Thrizzl3 and I are combining our car insurance (moving in together) and we got quoted $277/month... Toronto, $2 million liability, collision coverage, depreciation waiver, accident forgiveness, but $1000 deductible. He now pays $261/month alone lol.

put my speed back on the road and my insurance dropped this year, went from $255 to $174 in one year. cant complain.
マーズダビード
just got my renewal with RBC insurance and dropped from 289 to 227 with the speed now to can't complain.
21 Clean record Halton Hills 300 comp, 500 collision
Just got my renewal paperwork. $147/month with Belair. $1M liability, $500 deductible comp and collision, and waiver of depreciation.
36, single, clean record, Mississauga.
13 speed3 and paying 350 a month clean record. I guess the fact that I'm 19 doesn't help

The renewal came in the mail the other day. Last year it was $501 monthly which is full coverage. Starting on the 20th of April it's 440. Ooo don't get scared with that price. That's for me and the miss' 06 mz3 and 11 golf
