also ridiculous camber is maybe a little unsafe, but if your tires have tread and your contact patch is still at least 6.5" (stock width), the danger of these setups is probably a little exaggerated. the owners of these cars dont drive them like race cars. i'd be much more afraid of an 18 wheeler's tires falling off or an absent-minded driver than i would be of someone who is obsessed with their car's appearance.
Good point. I say no reason, because it makes the hood fit bad, for no reason. If I was to cut 4" round holes in my doors, it would be equally dumb, and have no reason.

Ridiculous camber usually means overly stretched tires and extremes dumps. Look at the Miata. Imagine driving behind him if his airbags blew on the 401? How about a stretched tire popping off the bead on the 401 in front of you?

Appearance mods are fine, so long as the don't impact the safety of those around you. Small stretches even moderate camber done right, I don't care about. Weird how people look down on cut springs, but a slammed car on 10" wide wheels and 205 tires is considered cool, especially with 8deg of camber

haha, i think we agree with eachother i like the pursuit of a "perfectly fitted" vehicle. to me, that is NOT negative offset wheels on a mazda 3. unfortunately the nature of the game, and people in general, is to try to outdo one another.

i like to compare it to snowboarding. Nothing is as pleasing to me as a stylish super clean huge backside 180... but the triple-cork 1260 double grab is always gonna win the gold medal at the x-games.

Sawatsky... I'm running neg offsets if you include my spacers. New wheels will be even lower... but it's a little different lol.

kind of a newb question, but what are some good rims to consider if I want to begin down the path towards being "hella-flush". Still not entirely sure about the impact of various offsets and their effect on flushness, but also not afraid to read up on it either.
Right now I have 18x8 +45 TSW Interlagos, and while I like the look of em, I dont think (and I may be wrong) thats an ideal setup. Im planning on getting BC coilovers in the spring and want to find a rim that will compliment this setup.
Any links to sites that can help point me in the right direction are much appreciated. Dont want to spend a whole ton of cash on 3-piece forged rims, but I also dont want anything cheap. Would like to stay matte black as well. Any good places to buy used rims??

If you want used rims, keep an eye out on Kijiji as well as other car forums. I don't check but I'd guess you could find some more aggressive 17s and 18s floating around on both Subaru and Mitsubishi forums from the Impreza/Evo guys.

Your current rims are not bad at all, but you're right that a) they're not going to be very flush with the fenders and b) its not as easy to get a good stretch out of a tire on an 8" rim (if that's part of the look you want).

Getting wider rims and/or something with a smaller (+)ve offset (like, +35mm) will get the rims closer to the fenders.

Here's the first thing google gave me about an offset calculator, which will help you figure out the concept. Link

Japandirectjapanese.com is where I found my used BBS. They're nissan fitment. They're 17x8 and 9 +45, which isn't "hellaflush" fitment, but is "actual flush". I have a couple ideas in my head to bring the offset to +25 this summer (two different types of spacer)

yuppers - used JDM auto parts places is like my "comic book" store.

I often go in to check new used rim arrivals and other "profitable" parts LOL

I actually found 'em by searching "5x114 JDM" on kijiji. A bunch of ads from japandirectjapanese.com came up and also torontojdm.com. Now that I think of it, I got my rims from TorontoJDM (aka TotalJDM). With all the custom adapters available these days though, you can really almost make anything work
