I have tried to view this thread from afar, but I need to point out that there really is no need to reference Quy in this thread...esp since this is a review of Metal Coaters...but since you feel the need to continually bring Quy up, I think it is only fair that Quy is represented.
First, the references to price is ridiculous. Yes, it is good to have options and I am all for that. However, any insinuation that what you pay for with Metal Coaters is EXACTLY what you get with Quy is absurd. Clear coat is an extra layer of protection...take for example, your car. Would you rather have two-layers of paint instead of paint + clear coat? If the previous is the better way, why the heck does each and everyone of our cars have clearcoat?

Having to be gentle with your rims after powdercoating is also ridiculous...they are wheels, on your car, on the road...if they can't handle being transported...well, good luck over the winter...
You get what you paid for is right.
Second, the question was asked about mounting and dismounting with Metal Coaters, not Quy's, so I don't see why Quy was referenced. In fact, I personally contacted Allen@Simply earlier this year to make arrnagements for all members in the future to make it easier for them to mount and dismount for the sake of refinishing. I find it is important to point out that there are no powder coaters I know of that mount and dismount tires...all powder coaters do is powder coating and refinishing...they do not specifically cater to wheels refinishing.
Going forward, I ask that this review stick to its purpose of providing a review of Metal Coaters' service. If anyone is interested in the difference, they can certainly wander over to Quy's PAYING SPONSOR section, that supports the site and the community. Furthermore, look for a video to come from Quy shortly...titled, "Doing it right the first time".
