You shouldn't of bought the bike....

You shouldn't of bought the bike....

I can't still can't fathom how a 25yr old can own a speed and a bike. Honest to god I thought you were a strong baller (iBanker etc.)![]()

Lol, not selling the car, that would just be stupid at this point. I'll be fine once work picks up again, which is going to be soon. Plus I only have just over a year left to pay it off finally. My line of credit isn't huge and unmanageable, either, I just hate owing anything to anyone, so it will get dealt with first. I really shouldn't have to explain myself online to anyone lol. I was making great money until I did the "one step back for two steps forward" thing a couple years ago when I joined local 675 for an apprenticeship and took a huge pay cut from my last job. I have since surpassed my last job's pay by about $100 take home a week and am soon due for another raise, but it's just hat to play catch up.
And as for being a "baller", I live at home and I bought a cheap bike that's cheap to insure. I know several young people who have much more than me. Like a 22 year old fire fighter I rode with earlier this year who has a 600cc supersport and brand new bmw 335 and his own place. Insurance on his bike alone would be in the $6-7k a year range.

^^^ Damn, never seen a manifold heat up that much. It does look like you can cook a steak on that thing. Maybe an egg, you might even have time to flip it and it will still be cooked on both sides.![]()

Dang! That manifold got red hot real fast!

Holy smacks, I didn't see that one.

moving this to the MS3 random thread...it has nothing to do with installs.
2010 Black Mazdaspeed 3 - Lightly modded

EGR delete = piece of aluminum + oil drain plug
i think we could make kits for like 5 bucks. you dont need a fancy diamond shaped block off plate, just a rectangular piece of aluminum with 2 holes. Use the gasket as the template obviously.
Oh damn, that sucks. Oh well, I stopped reading the Speed section because according to certain people only speed owners are allowed to even look at that section.

If you got a mill, i'm stealing it.
Want to work on your car but not sure how, send me a PM. Learn the way of Nator.
No sadly no mill yet... I have been looking for one tho![]()

So have I but they are all 3 phase units. I need to find a good single phase one that isn't +30amps.

So, I went home early today, read and searched through a number of threads regarding installing gauges, vent pod removal, etc... I got all the information I need, only one small detail that I did not know and did not find right away is that the vent cover is held by a small screw... The good news is, it didn't take me long to figure out that I cannot do it on my own.. The bad news is, I pulled out the vent cover as hard as I can which ended up twisting the screw hole.. Calling Jimmy tomorrow before I end up snapping anything else!![]()

I know, he told me that last time too... I'll try my best to persuade him.. I'll go there tomorrow and bring him coffee and donuts or something...
Then I'm out of luck I guess.. If anything, I'll just wire the oil pressure gauge and install the boost gauge this weekend. I just hate disassembling the whole dash!![]()

Jimmy will do it...just call and ask nicely

Yeah, I'll just lay it out for him nicely. I'll ask him tomorrow.

Oh.... Jimmy hates gauges? Shieeeeet.

Update on the JBR short shift plate I installed a week ago or so. I worked some lithium grease (dielectric grease) under the ball-joint cap shortly after I installed it, then drove it around to break the plate in/work the grease in. I'm not sure if the grease helped, or if the plate needed to be broken in or what, but much of the notchiness has gone away and now I cannot imagine ever going back to the stock shift lengths. All I needs now are those solid shifter bushings and what was once adequate will become second nature.
tl;dr = fack the stock shifter length and especially fack those rubber shifter bushings.

Kevin, thanks for the beer.
It wasn't necessary, but I appreciate it.
