The Equalizer. Solid 7.5.
Kept me interested at all times and the action scenes were worthy of an 8. Ending felt a little too crammed but the director made it nice and smooth. Wish they delved into Robert's background a little bit more but in keeping him mysterious made the movie more enjoyable I guess.
Wish there was more of the girl from Kick Ass. They pretty much only had her to have a girl.
All in all, Denzel Washington was a great actor as usual. He didn't get pissed this time which was surprising cause he always does in movies and does that little rage spasm

Cute story. Set in Toronto (proudly). Good date movie.
two night stand - kind of corny, i'm sure if you you watched with your gf she would enjoy it
the equalizer - wicked movie. Denzel always plays such badass characters in movies
I love BTTF. But as a trilogy, not so good. I only like the 1st flick. Yes, I've seen the other 2, but they don't hold the same appeal as the first. Time lines get all messed up.
Now, between the Dark Knight and the Matrix... That's a tougher call. Nolan's version of Batman is fantastic. But you have to understand Batman has been remade a number of times. His version is alot more realistic and plausible. But nothing compares to The Matrix.
Even now after 15yrs, it still holds its ground very well.
Best trilogy showdown:

The Departed is one of my favourite movies no question about it. Anyway I watched the movie The Judge last night. Really good movie. Robert Downey Jr really is a gifted actor. If you're into space movies: this one is very good. It reminded me a bit of Sunshine, but much better visuals and an overwhelming soundtrack. This movie does go to some really heavy and dark places though.
Well worth a movie admission.

Chitty chitty bang bang chitty chitty bang bangwe love you. And our chitty chitty bang bang chitty chitty bang bang loves us too. Ahh I loved that movie as a kid. As for me, I watched neighbours. It was pretty great. Then went to some Eddie Murphy movies. Beverly Hills cop and then trading places. Both are wicked movies.
Here are the recent ones:
What If - Shot in T.O. I find the chick they used to be very cute. Not a bad flick either. Definitely one to watch with your SO/GF/Wife
If I Stay - Kick Ass chick plays a mature role in this one. A little sad, but otherwise a pretty good flick. Another one to watch with your SO/GF/Wife
Stronghearst Asylum - Does Kate ever have a bad angle?? It's an alright flick, a nice little twist in the end. Ben does a great job with his role
Sin City A Dame to Kill - Somehow it doesn't have the same effect as the first one. It's still shot in that crazy cartoonish outrageous way. And you get to see Eva nude all the time (In that respect, the movie wins! :) ) A nice sequel to the original.

I went into it expecting nothing based on the trailer. It was a pretty good movie and my favorite marvel movie. A lot more fun than any of their recent movies.
Recently saw The Guest. It has a very retro feel to it. Relief to see a movie without any cgi what so ever. Completely rely on the actors performance.

Decent movie - didn't know what it was really about going in. In retrospect - I can see how addictive the rush is. But it was disturbing to see what lengths people would go to to get it. Unfortunately, the movie needed more __________. Jake G's character had a little "American psycho" vibe to it - which they should've showed more of.
6.5/10 - worth a rental.

The Interview
Wanted to see what all the hype was about. Typically not a huge fan of their collaborations, so off the bat I was skeptical.
It has it's funny moments - a little over the extra on James Franco's character, which got tiring after a while. Seth Rogan basically plays himself like in all his movies.
It is what it is - a satire movie poking fun at both N Korea and the US - and definitely was not intended to be watched sober.
6.5/10 - worth watching just cause of all the publicity. Would have scored a 7.5-8 if I didn't watch it sober
Curious how North Korea even got a hold of a copy of this movie to ban it - or if they banned it just on the premise that it was about N Korea....

wth is going on here, i'm not sure because of the cross over usage of actors through the generations and time periods but i kinda got lost throughout the movie and had to back track every once in awhile.

The Judge (2014) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1872194/?ref_=nv_sr_1) - touching father-son story where hot-shot lawyer Hank Palmer ( Robert Downey Jr) goes home to defend his father, Judge Joseph Palmer ( Robert Duvall) on a murder charge. One of Robert Duvall's best since The Great Santini.
I liked billy bob Thornton in this too. He played such a good role. The entire movie was fantastic!

He's what, 20? And the movie came out in '85.
When I was 20 in 2000, I'd only seen one of the top movies from 1970 (http://www.imdb.com/search/title?year=1970,1970&title_type=feature&sort=moviemeter,asc) (Airplane). I'm just happy to know BTTF translates to a younger generation :)

My parents saw it in theatres. I grew up with movies from the 80s-90s and to this day it's still my favourite era of movies. The start of buddy cop movies and my favourites (Lethal weapon series). Back when Stallone and Arnold were action heroes haha.

Then you need to. Marty mc fly, doc brown, Einstein, biff tannen and George mc fly. The movie was made 4 years before I was even born. And I still did love the other two.

Saw Birdman the other day. It is definitely a more complex storyline for the fact that the point the movie is trying to make is sort of subtle compared to the actual story line it is following. I totally understand the many mixed reviews on it, since i had mixed feelings on it while watching. One reason i thought the movie was really good was the fact that they did the movie in "one continuous shot" they didn't have "cuts" in the movie, by that i mean they made the whole film look as if it was shot continuously. So if you're looking for something that is different cinematically, I'd check this one out.

Binged on The Fall (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2294189/?ref_=nv_sr_1) for the past couple of weeks. First season was well paced and exceptional. Second and final season was more...anti-climatic.
It's ironic that Jamie Dornan is essentially reprising the same role, minus the homicidal tendency, for Fifty Shades of Grey.
Gillian Anderson could have easily been a moonlighting Dana Scully.
Jupiter Assending - went in knowing absolutely nothing. It was enjoyable. could've been better if the main actress wasn't that Kunis chick (I think that's how you spell her name), otherwise a pretty good flick.
Wild Card - I was expecting more. Wasn't a bad flick, but wasn't that great either.
Birdman - Everyone was hyping this movie up. Won awards and what not. I gave it a good 40min's before I started to get really bored with it. The "plot" wasn't all that great. Probably one of Keaton's best performances since it's centered around him. But after 40min's you can see where they're trying to take the movie and I started to watch it in skipped chunks. Freakin thing is long at 2hrs for what they're trying to tell you.
Personally I didn't like it. There are great performances in it, but it's not a movie that's enjoyable to watch.
Big Hero 6 - I saw it already in the theatre but it still holds up well on the little screen. :)

Chappie. It was really good. Not as good as district 9, (almost there) but loads better than Elysium.
I found the opposite between district 9 and Elysium. :)
Have yet to see Chappie.
I recently saw Imitation Game. Great flick!

22 jump street again. I still find it better then the first lol.
Tammy. It was alright. Not what I was hoping for but it did have some laughs.
Expendables 3. I loved it. I'm a sucker for the old school Arnold/Stallone movies and one of my favourite series is Lethal Weapon so to see all of the regular guys and then add some younger badasses as well as Mel Gibson as the bad guy I enjoyed it a lot!
Watched Interstellar for the third time the other day, it gets better the more you watch it. Probably one of my all-time favourite movies

You see - I was very disappointed with Interstellar. Same ways with Gravity, American Hustle, etc...
All these "Oscar" nominated and much talked about movies... I thought they were just BS time wasters.
The premise is intriguing, but IMO they just didn't carry it very well. It's actually insulting that Hollywood thinks people are stupid enough to believe that the story is plausible or not question the story line. I think they rely on CGI to convince us that the movie is worth watching.
The only thjng that got me through interstellar, was seeing how many times I can say "they need Sheldon Cooper here"
And what's worse is that this rant is coming from a guy that has memorized Adam Sandler Dialogue (and uses it) - so take my review with a grain of salt LMAO

The whole thing with interstellar is that it was produced by an astrophysicist. While some parts of the film are definitely questionable and "theoretical" at best, most of it is actually considered plausible lol
