John's build was awesome, which you have to give credit for. Building a custom arch and flare from scratch.

Bolt on arches are still custom. There are so many ways, pulling, rolling, building and welding, molding. Each with varied result, all taking an immense amount of work to turn out a quality piece.

The chrome wheels are fine... They appear to be Work CR-KAI, so at least not some thick heavy clunky steel wheels. IMO, it's the bumper that ruins it for me.

thought about ordering a set, but for what they are the price point just wasn't what I was looking for. If you want to pull these off you'd have to go pretty hard, wouldn't look good with subtle drop imo

I'm sure you can find a shop around here who would be willing to widen an existing set of steelies. It's really very simple for any normal welding shop... just a matter of finding one willing to take a job that small and not charge an arm and a leg.

Really all you need is a lathe to cut the wheel lip off, and a competent fabricator to put the steel band on. I've even seen a thread or two around the interwebz where someone DIY'd it in their garage with an angle grinder instead of a lathe

I am on the strangest of fences with that car.

Beside the Miata I think that angle does it well but I also think that if the camber was similar to the Miata I would like it more. IE if he ran the same offset all around.

Either way it turned out way better than I thought it would based on what I have seen thus far. I like this over the mashed fenders it had at one point.

I don't have the cash for air, and if I did I'd move to a different platform (and stay static lol)

From a cost benefit view point, coils are a no brainer. But in my opinion, the flexibility of air is better for people who are going to extremes for stance, resulting in mashed up fenders, ridiculous camber and non-existent drivability due to a static height.

Depends on your setup and how you want to roll. The best setups roll only an inch or so above slammed, which is I think how Dave is and how mine was.

Currently on my winters I am roll at about 3/4 lower in the front and 1/4" lower in the rear which results in rubbing plastic liner fairly often in parking lots and the like. My second preset is the same height I was last year, third pro kit height, fourth all the way down.

When I get my summers on (few weeks out yet) my first mission is to go to an empty parking lot to determine exactly how low I can roll on those and again set a preset (which would be 5, directly below 1).

Provided I don't change my wheels I see no reason why my ride height would be worse than last year. I'm also over the moon about being able to tucking my equips so I'm not about to change anything.
