I'm running 17x8 +22 in the front, and 17x9 +35 in the rear ... I tried reverse mounting the LM in the rears to 17x9 +22 but it stuck out waaaay too much (without any camber adjustments mind you).
17x9 +35 with 235\45 tires sits nice on the car ... tires are not really stretched, more like squared with the rim .. rim gives you juuuuust a tiny bit of poke, about 2~3mm.
This is on a '10 Speed3 tho.

My only issue with this is that it sometimes looks a little weird from the rear pushing narrow wheels out so far.
However it can be argued lots of camber looks weird from the rear so tomato potato or something.
My guess is 25mm spacers

It causes stress on something, the actual studs and the control arm? Umm it actually makes the car a bit lower in the back / front

IMHO, a proper 34mm spacer can be fine. People have been using them for years in racing and drift applications. So long as it's a quality part that's installed properly. Probably the main concern is so much leverage being placed on the studs. I don't think it's as bad as some people are making it our to be, as long as your spacer is hub centric. It causes more stress on wheel bearings and other suspension components, but no more than a low offset wheel.
You can buy 60+mm spacers of the shelf, so you're not the worst offender haha. Just make sure everything's torqued properly and I think you'll be fine.

But a 34mm spacer on a 7" wheel should be less stress than no spacer on a 9.5" wheel ???
A 9.5" wheel mates at the back of the studs right against the hub. Less leverage on the studs. A wider wheel would tend to be heavier though.

Stacked spacers have always sort of scared me but one big one in theory should be ok other than looking a little weird,

No point in going into extreme detail. People will never listen, and will just continue to add spacer after spacer.
Knowing more than 1 person this year running large spacers, who sheared lugs. One of them sheared a couple, and the other lost a wheel. All properly torqued, and had studs pressed in. One was an Eibach 25mm (I think) setup.
I prefer function, so I should see myself out of this thread, as it's clear that drivability/safety/Function are not welcome. LOL!

I want to know, i care. Now i'm well aware that cheap spacers are CHEAP and really unsafe. And i also understand that spacers are ""off road only"" but im not turning a blind eye to safety and would very much apreciate your input on this. I think we all could learn something if we kept an open mind. So please for me, please share :-)
As a side note. I have inspected the stretch of the bolts and they can handle a 105ft/lbs no problem, but they do say from the manufacturerss off road only. And im also aware that 6mm on top of a 25mm is ........... Well yha...
I do take very good care of my driving since i dont want to put stress on the studs when i take a curve. I drive like a granny...... But now i hear the comebacks already !! Eric why drive like a nanny when you bought a speed3 .... I cant explain or even put into words the awwww feeling i get in my stomac when i slammed my car and pushed my oem wheels the the almost max !!!!!
I hope some of you can feel that feelin in your chest when you look at your stance and just grin and feel all happy. It's my extacy !!!! Fitment addict
I know This may sound weird. But im weird ^_^

It will probably cheaper in the long run just to do this, and save urself the hastle of premature wheel bearing failure, and other possible nasty things such as a wheel comming right off the hub,.

Since you love OEM wheels that much, why don't you look into getting a set of OEM wheels from another manufacturer that are wider? Ex. Evo X GSR/MR rims.
That way, you'll have a better stance AND you can still tell yourself you're running OEM without putting your life in danger.

I like the low look, but not the extreme camber.
probably would like your car if I ever see it, and really liked Aitch's ride till he took the air ride off like a bitch.
Although I get the feeling everyone will be jealous of hyperion's car soon (at least those that follow this thread..)

I was just trying to make as many typos as possible lol.
I'm not a fan of extreme negative camber either haha. I wouldn't consider my car hellaflush as it sits.

That Volvo looks good. The crazy broken Mazda3 does not.
Seems like when it comes to wheel fitment: I f someone doesn't like it, they are just some hater. Yet, the same people who cry hater, hate on other cars like that spaceship looking crazy Celica.
If your car has such extreme camber it looks broken, rides TERRIBLE, and is popping beads, or gets stuck places.. Whats the point? lol

The thing with air setups is, you really have no excuse to not have perfect fitment because your fenders are safe during driving. I judge cars on air a lot harder than I do static because you don't need to compromise.

I judge cars by the amount of spacer. Its easy to get a certain fitment by slapping on spacers. Fitment is easy when you have camber arms and spacers. Space it, increase camber till it fits.

Yeah haha I will be using spacers on my wheels. I am simply not balling enough for custom wheels. 8mm all-around and I will be perfectly flush. Take them off and the wheels can be DD'd with no fender mods

i liked the celica... not because i thought it looked good, it looked like shit. but the fact that he made the really impossible work.. yeah it looked like shit but the point wasnt for it too look good it was too make what 15 wide fit?

So putting on a 15' spoiler would be good then. Would look like garbage, not be functional, but would be different lol.

Some people think modifying a engine is stupid too... age has nothing to do with it. It is just a matter of taste. Why do you think you have to hide shit from your wives? Because they know it is a waste of money too :chuckle

I am all for well stanced cars! I spent a ton of cash on custom wheels, but I hate when people have so much camber it looks bad, rides terrible, breaks often, and can endanger others (ie beads popping at highway speeds).

Ehhh doing that makes things weird because a lot of people on air (not John) have to ride really high to support their laid out fitment.
See the first example below:

If I get air I wouldn't change my wheels so I don't have to ride any higher than I do now and ideally so I could get low enough to throw sparks.

Well Dave, I would describe your car as having "perfect fitment" anyway. I agree with the rest of your statement

im not sure yet! i kinda like it like that too lol and im different from every one!
Never thought I would say this... But imo keep it off.. one of a kind.. plus you got a shark fin.. I think fin and spoiler don't go well together.. but whatever you do.. that speed will look sick, regardless..
Epic work!!

now THAT is gorgeous. dare I ask, static? if so, game over (except for maybe Kevin on MF, at least i think that's his name lol)
fenders aren't butchered, camber is on point (not excessive because it's necessary imo) and the front end is spectacular, except it looks like the bumper and driver's side fender are slightly different colours?
