Sad as both of the people were friends of tons of the people who live in Bolton (was one from here), so my Facebook has been flooded with pictures and posts of both of the guys. Definitely sad to hear, but events like this in that area always have issues. Even just prom weekends. You have a lot of young people under the influence of many different substances, who are all staying in cottages in a small perimeter, and so everyone is out late at night, and issues happen. Not saying it should, but it definitely isn't the first.

I feel ya buddy.... although for me its basically digging holes for new plants and various other plants. So thankful we decided to hire someone to spray the lawn so weeds havent really been an issue so far.... my neighbors though... they are a different story.

i decided i needed a lawnmower after i noticed how long my grass was getting.

as luck would have it, the top model troy built we sell came back today on return, and was headed for the clearance rack. Regular $650, and my staff price is $250!
man, that honda motor is so smooth and quite. starts with one half effort pull :thumbsup

TGIF. I had a pretty scary experience today. was driving down the 400 when the dually pickup about 2 cars infront of me had a blowout. Instead of moving to the shoulder though the driver thought it was safe to stop in the passing lane. I was lucky there wasnt much traffic and managed to quickly avoid getting my ass rear ended because of this guy's stupidity.

Woops, sorry. I misread it as automatically saying Focus ST lol I haven't driven a Fiesta ST yet. But my cousin has the Focus ST and when I drove it, I just didn't like the clutch feel at all. Heavy at the catch point, which seemed very precise and didn't leave much forgiveness if you missed it, and light otherwise. Some people do like it, but personally wasn't a fan.

Vegan because between both our food allergies, vegan works best. And she also tries to eat vegan for health benefits (she has had amazing results in feeling healthier) and I'm just allergic to... So many things, eating vegan desserts is the best way for me to go.

I did do that one internship last summer but it is nowhere near 4-5 years of experience that every employer wants nowadays.

I would say they taught me the skills I needed but in some areas they rushed it. There also only so much you can fit in four years of education and there's alot of different software in my field and out of all of them we only covered half of the features. I think it might be a good idea to take some extra classes in that software and get proper certification. Also it doesn't help that the job market for us designers isn't that great in southern ontario.

Aside from that no school in Ontario is perfect when it comes to industrial design.

Ocad is very artsy fartsy with limited focus on creating things that actually work

Carleton is very engineering focused and has values that are complete opposite of ocad

Humber (where I went) is a balance between both worlds but they tend not to go too far in one direction or the other. Honestly I've had a good experience with them and I've heard horror stories from the other schools ( stuff like profs failing you just because they don't like you) so I think I made the right choice.



There's also a few employers that expect us to know software( eg they want us to know AutoCAD when that is a software that is only used by architects and interior designers) that isn't necessarily relevant to our field but it is what they want and you just have to deal with it.

Jackal it's a festival originally made in the Uk. It was on the island last year but getting off the island was hell with so many ppl leaving at once. Took over 2-3 hours to get off. So they moved it to woodbine park. It's like a hippie festival lmao. Mostly electronic acts but bands on the main stage. People dress up in random costumes & the vibes are amazing. Older crowd from my other festivals so that helps too.

Consider yourself a yellow belt in industrial design and you will realize what lies ahead of you - more training and experience to master your craft. You need to continue educating yourself even when you are unemployed. Look into getting an advanced certificate or something while you look for employment.
Try this little grasshopper - find a person on Linkedin that has the job you want in a several years time and ask the person for a coffee. If you can't connect at least work towards getting those same certifications/experience as that person. Good luck in your career and graduating with your yellow belt. Your learning has just begun!!

Bestival yesterday was amazing. Vibes were incredible throughout. So much to do other than the main stages! Small set ups around, a mini bar & music in the trees hidden away. The inflatable church where you can get married (& one real marriage too!) was just boiling hot lol. Day 2 should be better for the heat lol.

Totally worth it to me :) & the price is very reasonable to be for the festivals. With many people they need to hire, paying the djs, production, everything it all adds up lol. I rather pay $200 for a two day festival that's 20-24 hours worth of music than how some people pay $500 to see one singer or band & they are caking most of it themselves lol.

Been a long day today. First went with my buddy to go pick up his new car from Oshawa. Then after driving back in the new car we took my car to first pick someone up from Brampton and then drove them downtown to get something. Afterwards dropped my friends off at Richmond hill and then back down to Oakville to say hi to @jaime08mazda3 and a few others.
