Does anybody else have a plastic bag filled with other plastic bags, or is it just me?

My wife says it's ghetto AF and wants to find a solution for the massive plastic bag collection we have under the kitchen sink.

We had some plastic tube thing before at the old house that the PO left - but no idea where they got it.

That said - I didn't really like that solution LOL

My dad has one of those plastic tube things.

I only have about 5 or so bags in the drawer. I usually bring my own bags for groceries so they don't accumulate too much. I buy a big bag of kitchen ones from Costco because it's more "sanitary". Just quoted that for no reason at all.

Not just West Indian, Asian thing in general. I have a huge bag of grocery bags under my sink - Only thing is my wife folds them neatly into triangles so it's not as messy. Bloody things are 5 cents a piece and nothing really fits into our waste baskets or is quite as useful for kitchen garbage like grocery bags.

... and just like my parents, I have a sizeable collection of unused produce bags from various grocery stores

Wow you guys had bad luck, I had all 4 taken out last may, was able to go out that night and was completely back to normal within a week and a half eating steak. Day 3 was the worst forsure. I got the oxy-codeine pain killer and it was great. I tried to step down to Tylenol extra strength asap to speed up the recovery. I also have pics if people what to see lol

Yea, mine need to go mostly because they are so hard to reach that they just end up getting cavities, and I'm not great at having work done at the back of my mouth. Also the bottom two are only half erupted, so periodically they can get something under the gum line that causes small infections that can get pretty painful. I've been really good at keeping shit clean back there so it hasn't happened in a while, but all it takes is one time to be uncomfortable for 2-3 days.

I'm pretty lucky they don't bother me, and the top ones should be pretty easy to get out, but I think they'll have to cut the gums to get the bottom 2 out since they are only half way out.

Roughly $1400 later...... Im just super happy that my wife and I have good Benifits from our jobs or else..... The dentist was bugging for a good 3 years to remove the teeth. My mouth was frozen but I did feel the dentist working in there. I didn't feel any pain what so ever but I did feel the teeth coming out.

From Rogers to Virgin.
I had Rogers ignite 150 unlimited. Changed to Virgin 50 unlimited. (There is also Virgin 25 unlimited). I checked through the Speedtest app and both give me the same speeds - about 50. Lol.
It comes with professional installation (from a Bell van) and a modem for free - no charge.
As well I no longer need a wifi range extender because it covers the whole house.
Rogers is a pain to deal with because I always needed to call every year or so to keep getting a "promotion" deal. What ends up happening is they upgrade your service with a discount and then after 12 months your rates go up after the promotion. I found it very annoying.

Seems like you're not getting a discount. It's 69.99 plus tax is $79 and change. You probably had the discount at one point but you have to call after the discounted term is over. Annoying.

Sounds like you haven't had much experience with our telcos, or enjoy the luxury of living in an area where there are more than 2 ISPs/Resellers :) Before anyone asks, the entire area is FTTP so yes, we're stuck with Bell/Rogers.

I should have read the fine print on Vmedia. After 3 months you have to start paying for cable TV. It's a Rogers reseller I believe so the old 3 month trick.

I am thankful for Techsavvy in Toronto. Never had any issues and it's kind to my wallet.

I was with Teksavvy for almost 10 years and passed my account off to my parents when I moved downtown. As a reseller they're bound to the rates Rogers and Bell force on them for cable and DSL respectively. Unfortunately their service is overpriced, unstable, and slow, not to mention their horrendous customer service/tech support where you'll be on hold for hours.

It's a shame because as an ethical company they're great. They supported Open Media, let customers know their rights when it came to anti-P2P emails from the MPAA, and fought against Bell and Rogers when the evil duopoly tried to cap everyone's internet at 25GB with usage-based billing.

It's not just if you have kids, if you become critically injured and basically a vegetable, without a will your significant other may not be able to get money or sell assets to get money because the courts (not really the court but I can't think of it right now) step in to protect the person who may someday recover

You basically need a legal document stating your intentions, from pulling life support in the event you became incapacitated etc etc

Like I said...real depressing stuff. And you have to ask people to act as power of attorney and power of medical (I.e who decided to pull life support) which is also scary for them to think about

We just went to a lawyer and for about $750 they drafted up 2 wills for us

You then need to keep the will safe somewhere and people you trust need to know it exists and where to find it. Best place is a safety deposit box probably. In the event something happens to you they need the original document to act on it

Edit: just checked. That internet plan is $134.99 per month alone and $144.99 + tax with modem rental. That's what Rogers does. They keep giving these promotions and upping the package. I was in that boat 2 years ago. Offered me a great deal with internet, Cable TV and Shomi. Went up each year dramatically after that.

Nighthawks are good routers, dual core 1ghz cpus, lots of RAM, but the stock firmware is so-so. I've loaded DDWRT on it but it's not super-stable... Just haven't had time to flash it to a later version. Not so sure about this uber thing. I watched this video and it outlined how much you can make with uber. In the end it was ok but not great plus you'd put a lot of extra mileage on the new car.

Plus the amount of mental rejects you'd have to deal with is just awful, especially since you'll have no support from Uber if there's a dispute. There's also guaranteed to be damage to your vehicle, inside or outside. Only do it if you don't care about your car at all.

It was an idea. I have researched UBER more since posting and people have reported making under minimum wage after expenses. Plus I don't think I can deal with random strangers destroying the back seat... I don't think I want to go that route.

I'll drive this car into the ground for now as its not worth much, get a beater when it dies or another 1st gen and swap all the damn parts over. I have almost built a new car anyways... in replacement parts alone.

After a year and a half of living in my apartment, I saw a roach in the front hall and proceeded to kill it. It must have come in from under the door (1/4" gap) as I sealed this whole place with silicone before moving in.

Newish neighbours 3 doors down don't take out their trash often, it smells near their door so that may be an issue.

Would roach traps in the front hall of my unit attract bugs from the hallway into the apt? Im Thinking of placing a few but I'd rather not invite them over.

Its not a huge issue but Any other bugproofing ideas always welcome.

Canadian Tire had a powder which comes in a large white container, you spread this along perimeters and other places, it won't kill them or keep them out immediately, but eventually they'll die of dehydration. Best part is they carry this powder back to the nest, eliminating the source.

Boric Acid is the powder to buy. Most places don't carry it anymore, but I think Home Hardware still does.
